How it works

Auteur is a curation network for surfacing and funding work across social platforms. Curate a work or back the person behind it: two ways to express conviction with $AUTEUR.

On Farcaster, a selection is an ordinary recast. On X, reply to the work with @auteurbot curate. Authors can earn even if they have never used Auteur before.

1. Hold $AUTEUR and connect at auteur.network.
2. Select work through a Farcaster recast or an @auteurbot curate reply on X.
3. Your token balance becomes curation power, spread across your selections.
4. Each 48-hour epoch is settled after moderation. Funded works reward their authors, eligible curators, and eligible backers under the epoch's reward policy.
5. Rewards become claimable from the Ethereum vault.

Your selections determine where your power goes. $AUTEUR determines how much power you have.

Back an auteur

Backing locks $AUTEUR in a position tied to an auteur. It activates next epoch and can earn when that auteur's work is funded. It is not a creator token, an NFT, or a guaranteed yield.

Your profile's Conviction tab shows positions, recorded backing rewards, and backing history. Taste brings together your curated works and your own funded works.

Explore without connecting

Choose or just explore on the welcome screen. Surfacing shows current-epoch discoveries; Funded is the gallery of previously funded work. You only need to connect when you want to participate.

Reward funding

Around 5B AUTEUR was initially placed in the rewards vault for epoch distributions. This is an initial allocation, not the remaining balance.

The vault is now controlled by a non-upgradeable rewards controller. It has no surplus-withdrawal or vault-admin-transfer path, and caps credits at 80M AUTEUR per epoch. Reward recipients are still determined offchain.

A separate allocation of around 15B AUTEUR was placed in a non-cancelable Sablier lock. This vesting allocation is separate from the tokens already held by the rewards vault and is not governed by its controller.
