Glossary

Auteur

An author whose Farcaster cast or X post can be discovered and funded through Auteur Network.

Curator

An activated $AUTEUR holder whose eligible platform actions can become epoch selections.

Selection

A recorded eligible curation action made during an epoch: currently a Farcaster recast or an X @auteurbot curate reply.

Funded work

A Farcaster cast or X post approved for inclusion in the epoch's deterministic reward ledger.

Curation power

The $AUTEUR-denominated power a curator can allocate during an epoch.

Dilution

The division of a curator's fixed epoch power across all of their selections.

Author discovery

The decaying 2x → 1x weight that redistributes curator budget toward works by newly funded auteurs.

Entry discovery

The relative bonus for selecting work before meaningful curator conviction and being confirmed by power that arrives later.

Epoch ceiling

The maximum amount the vault permits the admin to credit for an epoch.

Claimable

$AUTEUR already credited to an Ethereum address in the vault but not yet claimed.

Surplus

Vault tokens above the amount required to cover all outstanding claimable rewards.

Backing

Depositing $AUTEUR into a position tied to an auteur, eligible from the next epoch for backing rewards when that auteur is funded.

Principal

The amount deposited in a backing position. It is held separately from rewards and returned to the owner on cancellation or after the exit cooldown.

Backer

The participant behind a backing position. Its opening wallet owns the onchain position and receives any backing reward credits.

Conviction

The profile view of curation power, backing positions, earnings, and backing history. The graph is not a token-price chart.

Rewards controller

The permanent administrator of the rewards vault. It forwards constrained settlement operations with an 80M AUTEUR epoch cap, but provides no surplus-withdrawal or vault-admin-transfer path.

Surfacing / Underground

Surfacing is the current-epoch discovery gallery. Underground is a sorting mode prioritizing lower-attention work that has not yet reached Rising.

Rising

A like-growth indicator relative to a curator's entry snapshot. It does not itself change reward weights or guarantee funding.
