Become a curator

Hold a positive $AUTEUR balance in an eligible wallet connected to your Auteur identity. A larger balance creates more curation power, while making more selections spreads that power more thinly.

There is no protocol-level minimum beyond holding more than zero.

Curate on Farcaster

Open Auteur as a Farcaster mini app to connect your Farcaster identity.
Hold $AUTEUR in an eligible affiliated Ethereum wallet.
Recast work during the active epoch.

Likes and quote casts do not count. A self-recast dilutes your power but receives no curator reward.

Curate on X

Continue with the X account you use to curate.
In Profile, add $AUTEUR to the embedded Auteur wallet or connect an external wallet that already holds it.
If you connected with a wallet first, link your X account from Profile.
Reply directly to the post you want to select:

The parent post is the selected work. An ordinary X like, repost, quote, or standalone mention does not count as an Auteur selection.

If your X identity is new to Auteur, the bot can prepare a user-owned Ethereum wallet and direct you to Auteur. A command made before the connected wallet becomes eligible can be retained as an onboarding intent, but it does not become a rewardable epoch selection. After connecting and funding the wallet with $AUTEUR, make a new curate reply.

The command must start with curate after any leading @mentions. Mentioning the bot and using the word "curate" later in an announcement is not a curation command. Use a direct reply to the work, not a standalone announcement.

Add $AUTEUR opens the supported swap flow in the Farcaster mini app, with a funding dialog as fallback. On the website, it shows the receiving address and a buy link. Add wallet connects another wallet you control; it does not move tokens or redirect existing rewards.

Back an auteur

Open another auteur's profile and choose Back. Select a wallet, enter an amount, approve token access if needed, then confirm the backing transaction.

The position activates at the start of the next epoch. See Backing an auteur for the reward rules and withdrawal timetable.

Receive rewards as an auteur

You do not need to register before your work is funded. Auteur records the reward first, and it remains claimable until the receiving wallet claims it.

On X, continue with the same X account to open the profile and prepared wallet associated with that identity. On Farcaster, open the mini app so Auteur can match the Farcaster identity with its affiliated wallets.

Open Profile to see and claim available rewards. Claims use Ethereum Mainnet. External wallets need ETH for gas; embedded-wallet transactions can be sponsored when sponsorship is available.

What counts as a selection

An eligible selection is either:

a plain Farcaster recast; or
an X command reply starting with @auteurbot curate, where the parent is the selected post.

Deleting the source recast or X reply later does not currently remove a recorded selection. Whether the underlying work is ultimately funded remains separate from whether the selection was recorded.

Claim rewards

After settlement, rewards become claimable in the Ethereum vault. Claims accumulate across epochs until the receiving wallet calls claim().

Auteur prepares the transaction, but the credited wallet must authorize it. Profile's Claim rewards claims to that wallet. Connecting a different wallet does not transfer ownership of an existing claim.

If you want the tokens elsewhere, transfer them after claiming. A claim-and-transfer flow, when offered, still claims from the credited wallet first; it does not change the vault recipient. If that transfer fails after a successful claim, the tokens remain in the credited wallet.

If rewards were credited to more than one affiliated wallet, each credited address claims its own balance separately. In the mini app, you may need to open Auteur with each reward wallet separately.
