Role in the game

$AUTEUR powers two forms of participation: curation of individual works and backing of auteurs.

Holding more lets a curator allocate more total power during an epoch. Selectivity still matters because that total power is divided across every selection the curator makes.

Ordinary curation does not stake, lock, burn, or spend tokens. The same eligible balance can provide curation power in each epoch in which it is held and snapshotted.

Backing is different: you deposit tokens into a non-transferable position tied to an auteur. The position activates next epoch and can earn a share of backing rewards when that auteur is funded. Deposited principal is no longer a liquid wallet balance for future curation snapshots.

Reward allocation

The initial ecosystem allocations included:

• approximately 5B $AUTEUR was placed in the reward vault for epoch distributions;
• approximately 15B $AUTEUR was placed in a non-cancelable Ethereum vesting stream;

The Sablier lock can be verified through its Ethereum Mainnet transaction.

These are initial allocations, not current balances. The Sablier stream has its own vesting terms and recipient; it is not locked by the rewards controller. Vested tokens only become subject to that controller when deposited into the rewards vault.

Reward vault lock

The rewards vault is administered by a non-upgradeable controller with no surplus-withdrawal or vault-admin-transfer path. It can distribute at most 80M AUTEUR per epoch and can still receive additional funding.

Reward recipients are selected offchain. The lock does not prevent the operator from submitting its own address as a reward recipient within the cap, and it does not lock tokens held outside this vault.
